Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-06-07
1. Who this policy covers
This policy describes how Abunsh ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information about visitors to abunsh.com ("the site") and users of the Abunsh web application ("the service"). It applies to all users, and includes additional disclosures for residents of US states with comprehensive privacy laws (see section 11).
2. Information we collect
We collect a deliberately small set of information. Using the categories defined under US state privacy laws:
- Identifiers / contact data — your email address, collected only if you voluntarily subscribe to monthly market updates or create an account. Sign-in uses a passwordless "magic link" sent to that email; we do not collect or store passwords.
- Preferences — the US state you were viewing when you subscribed, used to make updates relevant.
- Internet / usage activity — pages viewed, features used, browser type, device type, approximate location (country/region, derived from IP), and referrer. Captured via privacy-friendly analytics.
- Commercial / transaction data (Pro subscribers only) — subscription plan, status, and payment metadata (e.g., a Stripe customer ID). Your card number is collected and stored by Stripe, never by us.
We do not collect:
- Your name, postal address, phone number, or other identifying details (unless you voluntarily provide them, e.g. in an email to us).
- Sensitive personal information as defined by US state laws — e.g., government IDs, financial account logins, precise geolocation, race, religion, health, sexual orientation, or biometric data. We neither collect nor process it.
- Browsing activity outside abunsh.com.
- Third-party advertising trackers or cross-site marketing pixels.
3. How and why we use information
We use the information above only for these business and commercial purposes:
- Email address: to send the monthly market update you subscribed to, to deliver magic-link sign-in, and to send operational/account emails.
- State preference: to tailor the content of your monthly email.
- Usage data: to understand which features are used, fix bugs, secure the service, and improve it.
- Commercial / payment data: to operate your Pro subscription, including billing, renewal, and support.
We do not use your information for automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you (see section 12).
4. How we share information — and what we never do
We share personal information only with the service providers ("processors") that operate the service on our behalf, listed in section 7, and only as needed to provide the service. We also may disclose information if required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a business transfer (e.g., merger or acquisition), in which case this policy will continue to govern.
We do not, and will not, "sell" your personal information, and we do not "share" it for cross-context behavioral (targeted) advertising, as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) and similar US state laws. We have not done so in the preceding 12 months. We do not offer financial incentives in exchange for personal information.
5. Cookies and tracking technologies
Abunsh uses only essential cookies — those required for the site to function (e.g., remembering your sign-in session). We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking, or third-party marketing tags. Because we do not sell or share personal information or serve targeted ads, there is nothing to opt out of for those purposes; we nonetheless honor browser-based opt-out preference signals such as Global Privacy Control (GPC) where applicable (see section 11).
6. Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above. Subscriber emails are retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion; account and subscription records are retained for the life of your account and for a reasonable period afterward to meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations; usage analytics are retained in aggregated or limited form. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.
7. Where your data lives (service providers)
Your information is processed and stored with the following providers, each in the United States and each under its own privacy and security commitments:
- Supabase — primary database and authentication (subscriber list, account data).
- Vercel — application hosting and privacy-friendly product analytics.
- Resend — transactional and marketing email delivery.
- Stripe — payment processing for Pro subscriptions (Stripe collects and stores card data directly under its own policy).
We select providers with strong reputations for data security and privacy, and we share with them only what they need to perform their function.
8. Your choices (all users)
- Unsubscribe: Every marketing email includes a one-click unsubscribe link. Once unsubscribed, you will not receive marketing emails from Abunsh again.
- Access & export: Request a copy of the data we hold about you by emailing us.
- Correction: If any data we hold is inaccurate, contact us and we will correct it.
- Deletion: Email hello@abunsh.com to request deletion of all data associated with your email address. We confirm deletion within 45 days (extendable once where permitted by law).
9. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data: HTTPS encryption in transit, encrypted database storage, row-level access controls that prevent one user from accessing another's data, restricted administrative access, and regular security review. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat your data with care and limit what we collect in the first place.
10. Children's privacy
Abunsh is intended for users aged 18 and over and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 (or under 13 within the meaning of the federal Children's Online Privacy Protection Act). If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Your US state privacy rights
Depending on your state of residence, you may have specific rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA, the Virginia CDPA, the Colorado Privacy Act, the Connecticut Data Privacy Act, the Utah Consumer Privacy Act, and the comparable laws now in effect in states including Texas, Oregon, Montana, Florida, Delaware, Iowa, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Tennessee, Minnesota, Maryland and others. Where these laws apply to you, you may have the right to:
- Know / access the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of recipients.
- Delete personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate personal information.
- Portability — receive a copy in a portable, usable format.
- Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, of targeted advertising, and of certain profiling. We do none of these, so there is nothing to opt out of — but the right is yours regardless.
- Non-discrimination — we will never deny service, charge a different price, or provide a lesser experience because you exercised a privacy right.
How to exercise your rights: email hello@abunsh.com with your request and the email address associated with your data. We will verify your request by confirming control of that email address (we ask for no more information than necessary to verify you). An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf with your written permission, which we may ask to confirm.
Appeals:if we decline your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision email. We will respond to the appeal within the time your state's law requires (typically 45–60 days). If your appeal is denied, certain states allow you to contact your state Attorney General.
Opt-out preference signals: where required (e.g., California, Colorado, Connecticut), we honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal as a valid opt-out of sale/sharing — though, as noted, we do not sell or share data.
California "Shine the Light": we do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct-marketing purposes, so there is nothing to request under California Civil Code § 1798.83.
12. Automated decisions and profiling
The Abunsh Demand Score and Property Standouts are computed from public and commercial property-market data about locations — not from profiling of you as an individual. We do not use your personal information to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.
13. International users
Abunsh is operated from Australia and primarily serves users in the United States; our service providers process data in the United States. If you access the service from elsewhere, your information will be transferred to and stored in those locations. By using the service, you consent to this transfer.
14. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when our practices change. Material changes will be communicated by email to active subscribers and noted at the top of this page with a revised "last updated" date.
15. Contact
Questions, or want to exercise a privacy right? Email hello@abunsh.com.
